SLA 2018 in Baltimore
If you’re a member of MLA and interested in attending SLA’s annual meeting this year, you may register at the member price. Per instructions:
“We do offer members of affiliate organizations (including MLA) member pricing for conference registration. Please let them know to email learning@sla.org and we can assist with getting them access to member registration through their affiliate organization membership.”
Note, it doesn’t say this on the registration form this year, so DO work through the email contact to make sure you get the discounted rate.
This year’s meeting’s will be held in Baltimore, MD, June 9 – 13 (Opening General Session is Monday, Jun 11). Keynote speakers include:
* Dr. Carla Hayden is the 14th and current Librarian of Congress.
* Dr. Sayeed Choudhury is the Associate Dean for Research Data Management and the Hodson Director of the Digital Research and Curation Center at the Sheridan Libraries at Johns Hopkins University.
* Wes Moore is an Army combat veteran and author who was born and grew up in Baltimore. Moore’s New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestseller, The Other Wes Moore, details the fascinating intersection of his life with that of another man by the same name—one ended up a Rhodes scholar and decorated veteran, the other a convicted criminal.
