Have other ideas? We would love to hear them!
We are especially interested in proposals from MLA medical librarians in North Carolina, Virginia, Washington DC, Maryland, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and Delaware.
Posters will be presented during one of the regularly scheduled poster sessions. Presenters will be required to staff their posters at one of the following assigned times:
Tuesday, October 6, 2009 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm
Wednesday, October 7, 2009 11:00 am – 12:00 noon, 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Email two copies of the abstract (300 word maximum) with subject line: Trichapter Conference, to Andrea Kenyon at firstname.lastname@example.org using a Word attachment. Proposals must be submitted in the format of structured abstracts. For guidelines see http://www.scmla.org/abformat.htm or http://research.mlanet.org/structured_abstract.html. Include a list of authors, their institutional affiliations, email addresses, and telephone numbers with the first copy of the abstract. The second copy will be used in a blind review process and should not include specific information that would identify either the authors or their institutions. Note: Those presenting must be registered for the meeting.
Abstract Review Process:
Abstracts will be evaluated on originality, innovation, organization and clarity of presentation, as well as relevance to improving service or practice. The primary author will be notified of the committee’s decision in August. Additional information (i.e. time, location, setup instructions, etc.) will be sent with acceptance notification.
Help getting started
To ensure that members are able to make the most of the meeting experience, MAC has established a mentoring program to support members with little or no experience in preparing posters or presenting papers. To learn more about working with or serving as a mentor, see http://macmla.org/pd/poster_paper_mentor.html.
This project has been funded in whole or in part with Federal funds from the National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health, Department of Health and Human Services, under Contract No. N01-LM-6-3502 under the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
