[ACRL-HSIG] Registration Now Open: Session 2 – Radical Self care for Information Professionals

Happy New Year Colleagues!

The African American Medical Librarians Alliance invites you to attend the second session of our Radical Self Care & Wellness for Information Professionals webinar series! We have a lineup of guest speakers who will be talking about various topics related to health and wellness for self-care of mind, body and spirit. The series runs from January through March 2021, and we will have speakers almost every week!

Join us for Session 2 featuring Dr. Natasha Lecque Gourdine, founder of Sports Performance & Wellness (SP&W), Melanin Fitness, and the author of The 28-Day Kickstart.

Dr. Lecque has been a fitness enthusiast and wellness coach for 12 years. In addition, she founded one the most talked about health and wellness companies in Charleston, South Carolina. Sports Performance & Wellness (SP&W) offers a variety of fitness options from personal training to nutritional instruction and much more.  Natasha’s passion for fitness and rehab originates from participating in sports since age 4 and working as student athletic trainer through high school and college. She obtained her Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy May 2013 from the Medical University of South Carolina and holds a Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science from Furman University. She is also certified as an Exercise Physiologist from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and as a Primary Group Exercise Instructor from the Aerobic and Fitness Association of America.  Many in Charleston refer to Dr. Lecque as “The Body Architect” because she helps you “build the body you want. You will keep the curves you like and lose the fat you hate.

Dr. Freeman has a B.S. Degree in Nutritional Counseling, M.A. Degree in Christian Education (M.A.C.E.), currently enrolled in the Doctorate program at the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology of Virginia Union University, is a Certified Naturopath, Nutritionist, Certified Nutritional Consultant, Diabetic Educator, Lactation Educator, Certified Hydro-colon therapist,  Certified Raw Food Chef.

January 27 – Dr. Ebony Butler | RSVP via EventBrite

Ebony Butler, PhD is a Licensed Psychologist and Food Relationship Strategist who has made it her mission to help women of color heal and thrive in the areas of trauma and diet recovery. Dr. Ebony specializes in guiding women to develop skills that increase their effectiveness in self-care and interpersonal interactions, including communication and asking for/getting what they want and need. Aligning with her passion to break through barriers that make it difficult for Black people and other people of color to access quality mental health care, Dr. Ebony created the first ever self-exploration card deck for Black women and other women of color.
