What’s Needed to Make a Literature Search Reproducible? An Introduction to PRISMA-S
August 10, 1:00 p.m.–2:30 p.m., central time
Melissa Rethlefsen, AHIP, Jonathan Koffel
Join Melissa Rethlefsen and Jonathan Koffel, two co-authors of PRISMA-S, who will show you how to ensure that every component of your evidence synthesis search is completely and accurately reported and your search is reproducible.
PRISMA-S was released in its final form in January 2021. It immediately became the standard that all health sciences librarians who work on systematic reviews and other evidence synthesis should know and understand. With the PRISMA-S checklist in hand and Melissa and Jonathan’s guidance, you will be able to make all your searches transparent.

Using Common Data Elements to Enhance Research Data
August 26, 1:00 p.m.–2:30 p.m., central time
Lisa Federer, AHIP
Join Lisa Federer, an NLM and NIH common data elements expert, for the latest on using and promoting Common Data Elements (CDEs). CDEs are practical and useful ways to enhance research quality, standardize data, and facilitate data sharing and reuse.
The NIH has recently made it easier to identify and use appropriate CDEs and have incorporated CDEs into their soon to be released Data Management and Sharing Policy. Lisa will show you why standard data collection practices are important to researchers and research consumers and introduce you to tools and resources you can use to support researchers in using CDEs.
